Dining Out

We wish we could tell you that there are 5 star restaurants here but this is not what Porto Rafti is about (although truth be told there are some gems here).

This town's dining is based on simple food.

In fact there are no restaurants we will recommend.

In keeping with the simplicity of this town, we ask that you do as the Greeks do:  venture out and find yourself a taverna.

Porto Rafti is full of traditional Greek tavernas with the main dishes being delicious calamari, fresh fish and octopus.

Wherever you are, you will be able to find a taverna.  All of them have good food and reasonable prices.

However, the area where most of them are concentrated is in Porto Rafti's port and along its seashore.

At the port you will find tavernas that are next to the sea, where all the fishing boats are anchored.

Coming back from the port, towards Agios Spiridon, you will find many other tavernas too.

We highly recommend that you not be embarrassed and to ask the waiter or owner to go into their kitchen to see what foods they have available.

The food is relatively cheap, so if you are confused with what you would like, just order more dishes than you might normally eat!
